Baby Eagan - NICU Day 86 - Happy, Happy Day

You can see his face now! Extubation is great!

Eagan with his Extubation Elephant

Ventilator before extubation.

Standby! It is finally gone!

The ventilator machine before it left his room.

Now just a tiny pole for oxygen.

His pacifier fits in his mouth now! The little piece of tape keeps the tube in place because his nose is so little.

Very first time wearing clothes!

Dinosaur blanket for brother.
I am so excited to write this post. I thought this day would never get here. The ventilator is gone!! His X-ray looked so good the doctor decided he didn't even need CPAP, so he is on a high flow nasal cannula. I gave him a washcloth bath and even got to scrub his back! I dressed him and held him. He is so easy to hold now and I can kiss his little forehead. When he was extubated, he held his oxygen saturation at 100% the whole time. He didn't act like anything changed. He is actually breathing on his own now! There are so many more snuggles coming tomorrow!
