Baby Eagan - NICU Day 96 - Self Extubation

Look! We both have trunks!

Eagan got to snuggle with Mommy!

There really is a face under there! He was getting his CPAP changed from prongs to a mask. This happens every 6 hours so I get to see his little face!
In true Eagan fashion, he decided he no longer needed the ventilator. So, he pulled out his breathing tube and actually handed it to the respiratory therapist. The doctors decided to leave it out and rather than do another intubation. He is doing awesome on CPAP with beautiful blood gasses.

Later in the day, some funky looking lime green liquid started coming out of the tube that lets air out of his stomach. In this case, green is not good. His X-ray didn't show an issue, but until the green stuff is gone, or a cause can be found, feedings have been stopped.

His cultures are still positive. Bummer.
